摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control system for automobile capable of securely preventing the emission of a harmful component and capable of being miniaturized. SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control system for automobile has an adsorption catalyst module 10 arranged on the way of an exhaust pipe of an engine. The adsorption catalyst module 10 has an adsorption part 11 formed of a doughnut-like honeycomb structure installed inside of a housing 2. The inside of the adsorption part 11 is provided with a main flow passage 30 through a tubular partition wall 3 so as to form a catalyst part 12. The tubular partition wall 3 is provided with an opening part 31 in the upstream side of the catalyst part 12, and the upstream side of the opening part 31 is provided with a switching means 5 for controlling the leading of the exhaust gas 8 into the catalyst part 12. When the adsorption part 11 adsorbs a harmful component included in the exhaust gas, the exhaust gas 8 is flowed from the adsorption part 11 to the catalyst part 12 through the opening part 31.</p>
