PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a partially reduced iron production device, when an iron oxide-containing raw material is reduced with a carbonaceous material for reduction, producing partially reduced iron having an improved metallization, and a method therefor.SOLUTION: Provided is a partially reduced iron production device where an iron oxide-containing raw material (such as an iron ore 11) and a carbonaceous material for reduction (a coal 12) are made into a pellet 13, and the pellet 13 is reduced by self-combustion in the high temperature reduction atmosphere of a reduction furnace 35, the metallization of the coal 12 as the carbonaceous material for reduction is 85% or higher. By inserting partially reduced iron 40 with a high reduction ration obtained thereby, the remarkable reduction of the carbonaceous material consumption and fuel cost in an electric refining furnace 91 can be attained.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
