PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a food composition keeping excellent flavor of tomato and having excellent blood pressure increase-suppressing activity and useful as a functional food improving essential hypertension, containing serous fluid of a squeezed solution of tomato and/or its condensate as an essential component. SOLUTION: This composition contains serous fluid of a squeezed solution of tomato and/or its condensate as an essential component. The squeezed solution of tomato is usually obtained by crushing raw tomato using a crusher, etc., heating by a tube heater, etc., to perform sterilization and enzyme revitalization, and further squeezing by an extractor, etc. The serous fluid is preferably obtained by subjecting the squeezed solution to a centrifuging at 10,000-15,000G for 8-12hrs and separating a high-molecular weight precipitate. A condensing ratio of the condensate of the serous fluid is, e.g. in a case of using for refreshments, preferably 4-6 times. A water-soluble compound having <=4,000 molecular weight and existing in the serous fluid can be used as an essential component of the objective composition. |
