PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a secondary failure by changing a developing condition, when the density of an image is fluctuated because of a difference in the sensitivity of a photoreceptor drum. SOLUTION: The image density of a test printed image is read by the CCD sensor 38 of an image reading part 30. The test printed image is converted into a digital signal in each image density of each gradation part by an A/D conversion part and stored in the RAM part of a memory, as density data. Continuously, a conversion table previously stored in the POM part of the memory is compared with the density data, to set a threshold A. Laser output required for forming the image with the density at the threshold A, that is, the light intensity of laser exposure light outputted from a laser exposure device 40 is obtained. Then, the value of the laser output required for forming a test pattern image is compared with that required for forming the image with a fixed density. Thus, the value of the laser output used at the time of forming the image after this is set with the result of the comparison in the above- mentioned manner. |
