<p>PURPOSE:To conduct initial setting of a steering angle with an inexpensive and reliable means in a steering control device for a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:A target steering angle value for a dirigible road wheel being a control object is determined by a target steering angle determining means and an actual steering angle value is measured by a measuring means 60. The measuring means 60 has a changeover switch 62 and detects the steering direction of the dirigible road wheel in accordance with a switching state. When the dirigible road wheel is gradually steered into the neutral direction by a steering angle control means, a position where a switching state of the changeover switch 62 is changed is adopted as a neutral position. In accordance with this, initial setting of the neutral position of a relative steering angle sensor 61 is conducted by a neutral correction means. Steering angle deviation between the actual steering angle value and the target steering angle value is computed by a steering angle deviation computing means, and in accordance with this steering angle deviation, the steering angle control means is driven so as to conduct steering angle control of the dirigible road wheel.</p> |
