A multilayer rubber article (I) is claimed, comprising (a) layer(s) of acrylic rubber compsn. (Ii) and (b) a layer of epichlorhydrin rubber compsn. (III) in direct contact with (a); both compsns. contain ester-type plasticisers, the plasticiser in (II) being an ether-ester plasticiser (IV) or an ester of an aromatic carboxylic acid with 3 or more OH gps. (V). (II) contains copolymer(s) of alkyl acrylate, 2-chloroethyl vinyl ether or actrylonitrile; (IV) is a polymerisable plasticiser; (V) is based on an aromatic carboxylic acid with 3 or more COOH substits. in an aromatic ring, at least one of which is esterified with a long-chain (pref. 4-12C) aliphatic alcohol, esp. an ester of trimellitic or pyromellitic acid; (III) contains a homo- or co-polymer of epichlorhydrin or a copolymer of ethylene oxide. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) is useful, e.g. in fuel pipes, fuel pumps, etc. The invention provides a multilayer pipe etc. contg. layer(s) of acrylic rubber with high resistance to low temps., such low-temp. resistance being essentially unchanged over a long time.
