The cable entry is formed in three parts. The outer part (13) has a raised circular area (15) of an elastic material. The centre of the raised part has radial tongues (19) that fold inward as the cable is pushed through. These tongues curve inward so only the apex of the curve is in contact with the cable exterior, increasing contact pressure. A step (18) on the apex forms a grip.A sealing layer (20) is beneath the outer layer and the passage in the sealing layer fits closely against the cable surface.
