PURPOSE:To efficiently filter and dry a slurry, by drying a cake obtained after a slurry mixture of a metal powder and a reinforcing fiber containing alcohol as a medium being sucked into and filtered by heated non-oxidative gas without moving the same from a suction filter. CONSTITUTION:A slurry mixture of a metal powder and a reinforcing fiber containing alcohol, for example, ethanol as a medium is injected in a suction filter 1 combined with a recirculation route 10 of non-oxidative gas, for example, nitrogen to be sucked and filtered in a nitrogen atmosphere introduced from the route 10 to leave the cake mixture 1d of the metal powder and the reinforcing fiber on a filter 1a while ethanol being a filtrate is recovered by an ethanol receiver 2. Then, by passing heated nitrogen through the cake 1d, ethanol contained in the cake is removed and dried efficiently.
