PURPOSE:To control gate plates during injection so as to prevent the deformation thereof and to release said plates during movement so as to smooth the movement thereof by providing control members on both sides in the orthogonal direction of the freely movable gate plates which are provided at the border of the reduced passage for the molten metal between an injection sleeve and mold cavity and making at least one thereof freely movable. CONSTITUTION:The gate plates 40, 41 tend to expand thermally by the effect of high heat and the pressure of the molten metal 31 acts so that the gate plates 40, 41 tend to expand outward at the time of packing the molten metal 31 into a cavity 27. The side faces of the gate plates 40, 41 are held in press contact by the piston rods 44a, 45a of cylinders 44, 45 and guide plates 40a, 41a are pressed to a guide hole 33, by which the seizure and the prohibition of the sliding movement are obviated. The molten metal 31 in the cavity 27 solidifies and after the injection sleeve 30 is lowered, the air cylinders 44, 45 are actuated to release the gate plates 40, 41 from the pressure. The gate plates 40, 41 are not pushed by the piston rods 44a, 45a in this stage and therefore, the gate plates move smoothly.
