A tablet dispenser is provided having a button (362) in a major face of its body. Actuation of the button causes a dispensing member (260) to reciprocate in a direction generally perpendicular to that of the movement of the button and dispense a tablet. The dispensing member is preferably driven by double-acting cam means (268, 368). The dispensing mechanism can be provided in a cartridge (250) fitted into a body shell (200), with the button on the cartridge projecting through an aperture (212) in the body shell. The body shell may have a hinged lid (214) to allow refilling. Preferably, the dispensing mechanism includes a feed chamber (322) containing tablets which feeds a dispensing chamber (263) containing a tablet to be dispensed, and a resilient member (266) which grips the tablets in the dispensing chamber to prevent them from being dispensed when the tablet in the dispensing chamber is dispensed. 00000 |
