PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new polynucleotide having high identity to a nucleic acid coding for gre A polypeptide including a specific amino acid sequence, used for screening antibacterial compounds, treatment of bacterial infection caused by genus Streptococcus, diagnosis and the like. SOLUTION: The new isolated polynucleotide includes the polynucleotide sequence comprising the polynucleotide having at least 70% of identity to the polynucleotide coding for a polypeptide including the amino acid sequence of the formula, the polynucleotide having at least 70% of identity of the polynucleotide coding for the same mature polypeptide expressed by the gre A gene included in the deposited Staphylococcus aureus strain and the like, useful for screening antibacterial compounds, treatment of bacterial infection caused by the genus Staphylococcus aureus, diagnosis and the like. This polynucleotide is obtained by probing a chromosome library originating from the Streptococcus aureus with a partially sequenced origonucleotide. |
