PURPOSE:To enable the luminance and the chromaticity characteristic of glass containing neodymium, which is used as the face plate glass of a color cathode- ray tube, to be most efficiently exhibited by applying a green phosphor which is relatively cheap, has a belt-like emission spectrum, and provides an initial luminance higher than that of a rate earth phosphor. CONSTITUTION:In the figure, both a spectral transmissivity curve (d) of glass containing neodymium, and the emission spectrum group of a belt-like emission spectrum green G phosphor having its energy strength peak at various wavelengths within the range of the green G color wavelengths are indicated. This is an example of a phosphor with an energy half-width of about 76nm. A fluorescent surface providing a satisfactory luminance and a sufficient chromaticity can be obtained by adjusting the energy strengy half-width emission spectrum green G having an energy half-width of 70-90nm to a wavelength between 580nm and 545nm. |
