The heavy-duty clamp consists of a support stand (10) on which is a carriage (16) which has a punch (44) drive cylinder (24) with piston and extendable drive rod. A duct in the carriage contains a U-shaped metal clamp (42) at the end of which is a stop plate (46). The carriage has an open jaw (56) closed and opened by a movable flap (52) which is locked by a locking mechanism. An elongated collector rod is held in a duct parallel to the punch. USE/ADVANTAGE - The U-shaped metal clamp is for holding large masses of collected material, such as explosives powder in mining, without damaging their container.
