MANUFACTURE OF COMPOSITE MATERIAL OF TANTALUM MATERIAL AND COPPER MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To surely join tantalum materials together and to seal the copper material by dissolving the copper material in an acid by the depth of the thickness of the tantalum material to remove it, fitting a cover of the tantalum material and performing electron beam welding or laser beam welding to execute joining. CONSTITUTION:The steel material 1 is removed tabularly to the depth more than the thickness of the tantalum material 2 to constitute a covering part by acid treatment and the cover 4 of tantalum is fitted into this recessed part 5 and the cover 4 and the inside edge part of the tantalum material 2 are subjected to electron beam welding or laser beam welding. Since the copper material 1 and the tantalum material 2 are entangled in the interface of both materials and the tantalum material 2 has the small thickness, the acid treatment is more favorable than machining for removing the copper material 1. The copper material 1 is not molten preferentially by electron beam welding and laser beam welding and a satisfactory joined part without influence of copper can be formed.
