PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare structural information on living tissues at a desired depth, based on a spectral image acquired by signal processing, to image information of a color tone suitable for observations. SOLUTION: A matrix operation unit 436 has its outputs which are individually connected with integration units 438a to 438c and are integrated. Individual spectral image signalsΣF1 toΣF3 are subjected to color conversions at a color adjusting unit 440 so that spectral color channel image signals Rch, Gch, Bch are produced from the spectral image signalsΣF1 toΣF3.
