1,058,941. Hydraulic reciprocating motors and pumps. BOULTON PAUL AIRCRAFT Ltd. Jan. 7, 1965 [Jan. 10, 1964], No. 1256/64. Addition to 938, 746. Heading F1A. A track member for a motor or pump having three or more cylinders arranged radially, axially or in-line, has a running surface defined by an equation claimed whereby the pump produces a constant rate of flow and the motor produces a constant torque. For variable displacement, the radial type pump or motor track member varies in cross-section along its axis, the axial type varies in cross-section radially, and the in-line type varies in cross-section transversely of its axis. In a radial, rotary cylinder block motor, pistons 34 engage track members 40 through rollers 38, liquid flow being controlled by stationary pintle valve 32. Drive shaft 16 is connected to cylinder block 28 by a coupling 22, 24, 26. Block 28 bears against a bearing plate 30. |
