PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antiseptic sterilizer which reinforces the original anti-microbial activity of a 5 to 10C 1,2-alkanediol, and to prepare a cosmetic, a medicine and a food each compounded with the antiseptic sterilizer. SOLUTION: The antiseptic sterilizer is characterized by comprising a 5 to 10C 1,2-alkanediol and terpin-4-ol and/or linanol. The cosmetic, the medicine and the food are characterized by each compounding the antiseptic sterilizer. The 1,2-alkanediol is preferably 1,2-hexanediol and/or 1,2-octanediol.
