PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a test method for electronic controller units which has a function of grasping a process by a on-board terminal itself and can accurately detect which position of test process of the test object line the vehicle is existing even in a location of bad prospect with a lot of obstacles, like works, without investing a lot. SOLUTION: In the test method of electronic controller units, compatibility and operability of the electronic controller units 2 assembled in a vehicle 1 are tested. In the on-board terminal 3 of the vehicle 1, a standard model data in each process of the object line to be tested are recorded in advance. The on-board terminal 3 obtains information transmitted between each electronic controller unit (ECU) 2 and, by comparing the obtained information with the standard model data, the existence of a vehicle 1 in either process on the object line to be tested is judged.
