PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for ink jet recording and a small image recorder wherein the space in the recorder is not occupied by a large ink absorbing material formed of styrene foam or the like in terms of the handling of particles removed from an intermediate transferring body. SOLUTION: This recording method comprises a process wherein a layer of a material 11 which can be dissolved or swelled by a liquid drop and increase a viscosity of the liquid drop is formed on a surface of an intermediate transferring body 21 beforehand, a process wherein the liquid drop is ejected on the intermediate transferring body 21 corresponding to an image signal to form a visible image on the intermediate transferring body 21, a process wherein the visible image is transferred to a recording medium and a process wherein particles are removed from the intermediate transferring body 21. The method further comprises a waste liquid drop treating process using the particles removed from the intermediate transferring body 21.
