Disclosed are a home network system, a method for controlling the same, and a recording medium for performing the method, wherein the home network system analyzes control signal information input by a user, detects a control pattern by time span or external environment information, and controls surrounding devices around the user based on the detected control pattern. The home network system receives a control signal from a user through recognition of pupil movement of the user, and controls the surrounding devices around the user. The home network system transmits a notification message or an emergency message to a predetermined mobile terminal, receives a control signal, corresponding to the notification message or the emergency message, input by a guardian on the outside, and controls the surrounding devices based on the received control signal. The home network system stores the control signals received from the user and the predetermined mobile terminal, analyzes the control signals by time span or on external environment information, and automatically controls the surrounding devices in accordance with time span or external environment.
