PURPOSE:To obtain a thin multicolor polarizing plate free from deterioration in polarization characteristics, by the 1st process of obtaining a color polarizer, the 2nd and 3rd processes of obtaining and cutting a lamination, the 4th process of sandwiching them with a difference in hue, and the 5th process of forming a protective layer. CONSTITUTION:To a hydrophilic polymer film such as poly (vinyl alcohol), bicolor dyes, etc., are adsorbed and oriented to obtain a color polarizer colored in prescribed hue. Next, a film suppressing the contraction of the polarizer is laminated on one side of the polarizer, and this lamination body is cut in a desired shape, such as stripped and beltlike shapes, into cut pieces. Then, those cut pieces are fixed in parallel in a sandwich shape with a difference in hue so that self-holding characteristics as to two pieces will be provided, and the film piece stuck lastly is peeled off to form a surface protective film layer of a transparent cellulosic film, etc., on the exposed polarizer group surface. Consequently, the multicolor polarizing plate which never deteriorates in polarization characteristics even when viewed slantingly can be obtained. |
