The microscope i.e. stereomicroscope (100), has a switchable lighting device (8), and night-vision devices (20a, 20b), which are supplied with different light paths (50, 52, 54, 56) that are coming from an object i.e. eye (1) to be observed. A zoom-system (4) is provided upstream and/or downstream to the night-vision devices. Overlapping devices (6, 7) overlap images produced by the night-vision device with the light paths before and/or after the zoom-system. Closing devices (27) are alternatively engaged and extended in the light paths.
