<p>Contaminants present in industrial exhaust gases are scrubbed out in a water filled scrubber. This has a closed vessel with an inlet at one end and an outlet at the other. It has a series of internal partitions which extend from the top below the water level, forming a series of compartments. A shaft down the centre of the housing has a series of paddles located around it which are rotated through the liquid and gas spaces. These are hollow cylindrical devices with holes around one side. attached to the supports for these are baffles which extend to the edge of the adjoining partition wall. The elements collect a charge of gas and allow it to bubble up through the water, the baffles deflecting it into the adjoining compartment. For use in removing offensive materials from exhaust gas streams. Provides a straightforward relatively cheap system which is very effective, giving an outlet gas stream free of offensive materials.</p>
