VIDEO DATA RECORDING METHOD

A method for recording image data is provided to solve a problem that if image data of an MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) transport stream is decoded and then image data which has been re-encoded in a different manner is recorded, the re-encoded data and hypertext data cannot be properly combined to be displayed while playing. A recording device generates image conversion information with respect to a received MPEG transport stream and inserts it as PMT(Program Map Table) configuration information to a PMT table so as to be separately recorded in a navigation data region different from a region where a program is recorded(901). The recording device extracts an MPEG transport packet constituting a program requested to be recorded by a user, encodes corresponding image data in a different manner, and stores the same in the program region(902).
