PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that a random number is generated by a random-number generation program using a battery voltage measured by a slave ECU (Electronic Control Unit) as a seed so as to use the value of the random number as a temporary address, therefore, it is likely that different slave ECUs generate the same temporary address, and consequently, address setting is failed, and also, each slave ECU performs an address application to a master ECU is executed after the elapse of a time calculated from a temporary address value, therefore, it takes time until the completion of setting. SOLUTION: The slave ECU performs an address application to the master ECU by using a unique value stored in an external storage part as the temporary address so as to acquire an actual address on a first-come-first-served basis.
