A method of producing an annular packing and preparing a packing thus produced for mounting on a construction element, which packing comprises an elastic sealing body 1 which has an adhesive surface 2, covered by a protective film, for fastening the packing to the construction element. The adhesive surface is located in a plane which is at right angles to the centre axis 3 of the packing. According to the invention, a strand 4 of predetermined length for forming said sealing body 1 is prepared, which strand 4 has a plane surface 6 which forms said adhesive surface 2 covered by a protective film 7. The strand 4 is bent and the end surfaces 9, 10 are connected by means of a bonding agent to form an annular packing so that the adhesive surface 2 adopts a first distinct position, in which it has the shape of a cylinder which is concentric with the centre axis 3 of the packing. The protective film 7 is removed in connection with the mounting of the packing, and the sealing body 1 is rotated about its circular centre line 5 by essentially 90 so that its adhesive surface 2 is made to adopt a second distinct position in said plane. <IMAGE> |
