<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information-reading device which can improve operability and workability when information recorded to an information-recording medium is read out (or information is written to an information-recording medium). <P>SOLUTION: The information-reading device 1 includes; a conveying passage 10e which conveys an information-recording medium (passport 2); an image sensor 11 which is arranged in a frame 10, which forms the conveying passage 10e, and optically reads out the information recorded to the information-recording medium (passport 2); and noncontact-type antennas 16a-16c which transmit information to and receive information from an antenna 21 or antenna 22 embedded in the information-recording medium (passport 2) by electromagnetic induction.
