PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can suppress the temperature rise of the device even in a device which has its internal units closely constituted and needs to be made small-sized and to save the space. SOLUTION: An FR frame 65a as a part of an opening/closing mechanism 64 having a hole part 80 is provided nearby a fixing unit. A cooling fan 84 is provided in the back of a printer 31 and nearby the FR frame 65a. Air warmed up by the heat generated by the fixing unit is finally discharged from a device main body by the cooling fan 84 as shown by arrows 82, 83, and 85. The FR frame 65a as a part of the opening/closing mechanism 64 is therefore used as an air duct for discharging the air from the device main body to suppress the temperature rise of the device resulting from the fixing unit 65 without newly providing a cooling mechanism in the device.
