DISK CARTRIDGE AND DISK UNIT USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk cartridge and a disk unit in which a manufacturing cost is reduced and the size of the unit is reduced by performing detection with detecting sensors fewer than the number of information holding parts although the number of detecting sensors provided in a disk unit is increased when a plurality of information holding parts are placed in the disk cartridge. SOLUTION: The information holding parts of a disk cartridge are arranged in a straight line almost parallel to the insertion direction of the disk cartridge to the disk unit. The disk unit detects the information of the information holding parts before the disk cartridge moves to the position where recording and/or reproduction in the disk unit is performed, after the insertion of the disk cartridge into the disk unit is started.
