<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize a general-purpose information terminal by controlling transmission information by means of an information update/management part (1), inversely estimating a location of a receiver from an optical signal in an optical information receiving part (2) and using an information converting part (3) to convert the rate of a received signal in a location information transmitting apparatus incorporated in an illumination appliance within a building as an inexpensive location guiding method for the handicapped, particularly, for the handicapped in eyesight or the like. <P>SOLUTION: Bidirectional optical communications are used for an illuminating device with an information transmitting function which is turned on by an alternating current, while including an electric lamp cable network for the purpose of updating and managing transmission information of the illumination appliance. A receiver composed of one or more photo-sensors for inversely estimating a location itself of an apparatus to receive the information is then utilized for an illuminating device of which a mounting location is known. Besides, information transmitted from the illuminating device is decoded in the receiver and further, reliability of the signal is improved by digital signal processing. The reproduced signal is transmitted to a portable information terminal or a cellular phone by the optical communication device in which a serial line or a transfer rate is converted, and information searched from an internal database is provided to a user by means of sounds or images. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
