An improved plough anchor (30) characterised by an elongate shank (32) and a plough body (34), the plough body (34) having provided therein a neck portion (44) pivotally attached to the remainder thereof and through which the elongate shank (32) is connected thereto, the axis (y-y) described by the pivotal connection of the neck portion (44) and remainder of the plough body (34) being tilted forward of vertical such that upon rotation of the elongate shank (32) with respect to the plough body (34) the elongate shank (32) is at its highest when not orientated along an axis (o-o) described by the plough body (34).
