PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a clear ink image at a stable processing speed by arranging a means of comparing processing time measured by the first and second timing means and selecting the first or the second data generating means as a candidate responsible for generation of discharge data. SOLUTION: A CPU compares the first and second processing time timed for each printing start instruction, and selects a data synthesizing means 1708 as a candidate responsible for generation of discharge data. Therefore, every time when start of printing is instructed, a candidate responsible for monitoring fluctuations in the data processing speed of a host unit and processing to generate the second ink discharge data can be selected timely. In addition, the system has a monitoring means (CPU) that monitors changes in the processing clock of the host unit, the CPU compares the first and second processing time timed every time when a change in the processing clock of the host unit 101 is detected, and selects a candidate responsible for generating discharge data from the data synthesizing means 1708. |
