PURPOSE:To reduce the discontinuous feeling when the rotational displacement of a linkage reaches or exceeds a set angle and said rotational displacement is restricted, by providing a resilient body having non-linear properties in the steering linkage, and restricting the rotational displacement of the linkage by the resilient deformation of said resilient body from reaching or exceeding a set angle. CONSTITUTION:A steering shaft is divided into an upper section 4a and a lower section 4b. The upper end of the upper shaft 4a is connected to a steering wheel 1 and the lower end thereof is rotatably supported on a coupling body 16 and has a pin 17. The lower shaft 4b is fixed to the body 16. The body 16 is formed with fan-shaped notches 18 for allowing the rotation of the pin 17 within a predetermined range, and the side surfaces of the notches 18 form restricting means 18 for restricting the rotational angle of the pin 17 from reaching or exceeding a prescribed angle. The body 16 is further formed with bores 20, 21, in which collars 22 are slidably fitted with which heads 17a of the pin 17 engages. The collars 22 in the bore 20 are energized by springs 24, 25, and as the deformation of the spring is increased the elastic modulus thereof increased non-linearly. |
