CULTIVATION METHOD OF NEURON USING METHYLTHIOADENOSINE(MTA)

PURPOSE: A cultivation method of neuron using methylthioadenosine(MTA) is provided, therefore the neuron can be selectively and cheaply cultivated without using antibiotics. CONSTITUTION: The neuron may be selectively cultured in a medium containing methylthioadenosine(MTA), in which the neuron is derived from the central nerve system, peripheral nerve system or eye tissue; the concentration of methylthioadenosine is 0.1 to 10 mM; and the methylthioadenosine has antimitotic and antibiotic activities, so that the cells carrying out the mitosis during the cultivation may be killed because the mitosis of the cells is stopped by the methylthioadenosine but the neuron does not carry out the mitosis.
