PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light source device which can obtain a uniform and bright outgoing beam from both a surface part and a rear face part of a light guide plate even with a few number of point light sources. SOLUTION: This device mounts the point light sources 2 with a few number of light emitting diodes or the like near an incidence end face part of a case 6. It also installs a light control means which has a reflecting surface of a parabolic shape, a prism shape, a facet shape, a Fresnel lens shape or the like at a position opposing to the incidence end face of the light guide plate 9 in the case 6. The light once reflected by the light control means is uniformly projected to the incidence end face of the light guide plate 9 by projecting the light to this light control means at a prescribed angle from the light source 2. |
