PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric kettle without giving a sense of discomfort caused by the flickering of the temperature display when the input from a temperature selection input means is received. SOLUTION: The electric kettle includes a vessel 2 for storing liquid; a heat source 3 for heating the vessel 2; a temperature detecting means 4 for detecting the temperature of the liquid; a display means 5 for displaying the temperature of the liquid; a control means 6 for controlling the display means 5; and the temperature selection input means 7 for changing the set temperature for the temperature control of the liquid. The temperature display by the display means 5 is not updated till a prescribed period of time elapses after the set temperature is changed by the temperature selection input means 7, and the temperature display when the input from the temperature selecting input means 7 is received is retained. Accordingly, flickering of the temperature display is prevented to eliminate the sense of discomfort, and the usability of the electric water heater can be improved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
