PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide fishing pliers which can be stably held in a split ring opened state, when a fishing hook is attached or exchanged. SOLUTION: The pliers having a pair of mutually facing nipping portions are characterized by projecting a pair of mutually facing claws on one of the mutually facing nipping portions toward the other nipping portion so that the other nipping portion can be inserted into a space between the mutually facing claws. The pliers are preferably characterized in that a claw capable of being inserted into the space between the mutually facing claws is projected on the nipping portion capable of being inserted into the space between the mutually facing claws. The pliers are preferably characterized by forming a groove for holding the split ring in at least one of both the nipping portions.
