PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION COMPRISING IMMEDIATE RELEASE PH-INDEPENDENT SOLID DOSAGE FORM OF CISAPRIDE

A solid dosage form comprises a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and an active ingredient which is a salt of cisapride selected from cisapride-(L)-tartrate, cisapride-(D)-tartrate, cisapride-sulphate, and cisapride citrate. The cisapride salt dissolves for more than 60% within 1 hour at pH 1-7.5 when tested according to USP test (711) in a USP-2 dissolution apparatus. Also claimed is a pharmaceutical package comprising a container, an oral dosage form with no adverse food effects and written matter non-limited as to whether it is taken with or without food.
