PURPOSE:To improve the capacity and the life of electrodes by using an electrode ear holder which is conductive in the upper section and non-conductive in the lower section for welding electrode ears with an arc discharge and forming straps. CONSTITUTION:Electrode ears 4, 5 are inserted and maintained in an electrode ear holder 1, and an a.c. arc discharge is generated between electrode ears 4, 5 and a torch 6 to accomplish welding of electrode ears together and forming of straps simultaneously. This electrode ear holder 1 consists of a consuctive section 2 made of steel, stainless steel, etc., and a non-conductive section 3 made of heat resistant synthetic resin or the like and provided above the conductive section 2. The conductive section 2 has a hole for electrode ears to penetrate, and the non conductive section 3 has a groove-like portion to form straps. |
