PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for configuring a multi-functional electronic device. SOLUTION: A multi-functional mobile telephone handset (27) is connected through a universal Serial Bus to a PC (17). During bus enumeration, a device class descriptor is returned by the hand set to the PC. The operating system of the PC receives information relevant to one of the functions of the handset and assigns an appropriate device driver.
