PURPOSE:To improve contrast, responsiveness and memory retentivity by incorporating a low molecular liq. crystal compd. in 1/20-1/2 weight ratio to a polyglutamate deriv. CONSTITUTION:When a recording layer 3 is laminated on a substrate 1 to obtain an optical recording medium, a low molecular liq. crystal compd. is incorporated in 1/20-1/2 weight ratio to a polyglutamate deriv. The arrangement of the side chain groups of the polyglutamate deriv. in the recording layer 3 is promoted and CN ratio, erasing ratio, sensitivity and response speed are increased at the time of recording. Satisfactory recording, reproducing and erasing performances are ensured and contrast, responsiveness and memory retentivity are improved. |
