The delivery conveyor(2) which is located outside the cleaning housing(10) transports the flat steel bar as far as the squeeze rollers(6) until the latter grip the bar and transport it further. Pressure rollers(3) are located at the outlet end(21) of the delivery conveyor. The conveyor may be constructed as a magnetic belt or magnetic roller conveyor with suspended transportation of the bars, or as a band or belt conveyor with lying transportation of the bars.
