The invention relates to a suspension of erythrocytes encapsulating a bisphosphonate, for use as a medicament for the prevention and treatment of bone metastases and other bone marrow diseases. It also relates to a suspension of erythrocytes en-capsulating a bisphosphonate, in which these erythrocytes have undergone a chemical treatment with an agent such as BS3 so as to promote targeting of the bone marrow.
