PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, when a nozzle having a long interval of discharging occurs, an ink is dried and thickened near the meniscus of the nozzle to cause the ink not to be discharged so that the image quality is deteriorated. SOLUTION: The ink jet recorder uses an ink composition of a liquid component containing water, a high melting point organic solvent, and a surface- oxidized self-dispersion pigment in such a manner that the boiling point of the solvent is 120 deg.C or higher, 40 to 70 wt.% of the solvent is blended in the entire weight of the ink and except the pigment. The liquid component has a melting point of 20 deg.C or lower. |
