PURPOSE:To reduce the driving power of a fan and minimize its related noise by maintaining a smooth air flow in an air conditioner and reducing pressure loss in the equipment and preventing the generation of flow separation or the like. CONSTITUTION:An air conditioner is provided with a fan 4 and a heat exchanger 6 which is laid out in such a fashion that it may cross an air flow passage 5 on the windward side in a casing 1 which houses the fan 4. Between the heat exchanger 6 and the fan 4 is interposed a wind velocity control device 8 which consists of a first slanting section 8a made of a porous material which enables air distribution, and slants to the side of the fan 4 at a position near the fan 4, a second slanting section 8b which slants to the side of the fan 4 at a position distant from the fan 4 and a bending section 8c which continuously connects both the slanting sections 8a and 8b at a specified bending angle. |
