PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing tetrafluoropropenes (2,3,3,3-tetrafluoro-1-propene (HFO-1234yf) effective as refrigerants, fire extinguishants, heat transfer media, propellants, foaming agents, blowing agents, gaseous dielectrics, sterilant carriers, polymerization media, particulate removal fluids, carrier fluids, buffing abrasive agents, displacement drying agents and power cycle working fluids, without the need for treatment for the ozone layer.SOLUTION: For example, the invention provides a method in which CFCFClCH(244-isomer) is transformed selectively to HFO-1234yf in a gas-phase catalytic reaction using activated carbon as a catalyst.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
