PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image fastness improver which can obtain superior gas fastness and high quality glossiness, as well as recorded matters, and a method for improving image fastness using the image fastness improver.

SOLUTION: The image fastness improver for the recorded matters having an ink accepting layer of porous structure, with an image formed on the ink accepting layer using a pigment, contains mainly an ester compound having a hydroxyl value of 5 or more and a molecular weight of 300 or more.
