The barrier is operated by the closed water circuit of the pool (6), forced by its filtration pump (1). In the forced water circuit side, the barrier (5) is raised by diverting this water circuit. The barrier is lowered from the suction side. The protection may encircle the pool perimeter, with a handrail (9) and guide columns (11) below, with stops (7) above "T" junctions in the water circuit. This may have manually operated ball valves (15) or electric valves (3), contactor operated by attendant, or photoelectric cell. The guides may have spaced mountings (12), supporting suspended panels, on floats (4), housed in frames when the barrier is at rest.
