The seat has a movable pivoting bearing element arranged along the seat rail (18). A disengaging movement of the base frame (16) opposite to the seat rail causes release of the locking unit. The pivoting movement of the base frame is conducted by pivoting bearing element in the non-usage position of the vehicle seat. The pivoting bearing element is pivoted with a guide supporting on the seat rail. The guide guides the vehicle seat and determines the position of the non-usage position. An independent claim is also included for the locking bar for position adjustment is pivoted in the component.
