摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a premix compression ignition internal combustion engine for allowing stable combustion regardless of an operation load of the internal combustion engine by restraining the occurrence of excessively early ignition when performing premix combustion in a compression ignition internal combustion engine for injecting fuel of multiple times in one cycle. <P>SOLUTION: This compression ignition internal combustion engine has a main fuel injection valve for injecting main fuel and a sub-fuel injection valve for forming premix air of sub-fuel and air in a combustion chamber by injecting the sub-fuel in the earlier timing than the main fuel. When determining that the ignition timing of the premix air is earlier than the prescribed timing on the basis of the air-fuel ratio of the premix air formed in at least the combustion chamber (S100, S101 and S102), a temperature of the sub-fuel is reduced (S104), or when having an exhaust air recirculating device, a temperature of recirculating exhaust air is reduced by the exhaust air recirculating device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
